Adele

AdeleAdele Mara (April 28, 1923 until May 7 in 2010), was an American actress in the fields of dance, singing and dancing who made appearances in films throughout the 1940s, 1950s, and in television during the 1950s, 1960s and then. With the professional name Adele St. Mara, she won a contract with Columbia Pictures[citation required] and gained experience in the studio's "B" feature films as well as comedy shorts. It was then changed to Adele Mara. One of Mara's first roles was as a receptionist on the Three Stooges film I Can Hardly Wait. Mara Brooks and Leslie Brooks were the sisters of Rita Hayworth in the Fred Astaire film You Were Never Lovelier. In Alias Boston Blackie (1942) she is the lead female role as the daughter of an escaped and wrongfully found guilty convict. She transferred to Republic Pictures after her Columbia contract was removed. The studio specialized in films based on westerns and outdoor adventures. She was a part in The Vampire's Ghost, Wake of the Red Witch featuring John Wayne, Angels in Exile (leading ladies), Sands of Iwo Jima (John Wayne's love attraction), California Passage (leading ladies) and Don Siegel's Count the Hours(supporting role).
