Zoe-perry

Perry was born to actor Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. Perry made her debut in television shows in the role of Jackie Harris, a character that was played by her mother on her role on the ABC comedy Roseanne. But her parents would not permit her to perform until she reached the age of adulthood due to the negative effects that stress could affect their child. Perry acknowledged that she was not at ease in the stage during high school. However, she began acting to make friends during her time at Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. Perry was a graduate of Boston University, moved into New York in search of TV roles. Perry was able to land small roles in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. But, her home-sickness led her to California for theater roles. Perry was a part of Broadway as a part of The Other Place with her mother in the year 2013. The show featured the father of her character Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in the year 2015 in The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. In the year 2016, Perry appeared on nine episodes on ABC's drama The Family. Perry was a regular character in the ABC drama about politics Scandal which starred her father. The same year, she appeared as a younger character based on Mary Cooper on Young Sheldon (a CBS spinoff The Big Bang Theory) in which she played her mother as a young version. The actress was chosen for the role in spite of her strong familial connection to the character.
